    I know I watched a Holt DVD which had scenes from A Christmas Carol. It was a media DVD of some sort with various clips of media productions used in lessons.
    Why is A Christmas Carol not in the Holt text??? I have been planning on teaching A Christmas Carol after Thanksgiving break and having seen the DVD I naturally assume that meant the story was in the text.....HELP!! Why would they have the scenes from the story on a DVD and then not include the story in the text???

    Diane replies:
    The clip for A Christmas Carole is on the McDougal MediaSmart CD.  It is not the full version of the movie, just a clip that is used in teaching media literacy.  This component is part of the McDougal program, but is offered as an option for Holt program as well, because of the merged company.  MediaSmart is a stand-alone product that can be used with either of the two programs. These interchangeable components were given to all pilot teachers so that they would have access to them throughout both pilots.  Sorry for the confusion--hope this clears things up!  Thanks-
